250th Anniversary

Looking Back ...

In 1760, a farmer named John Player, of Stoke Gifford near Bristol, extended his activities to include the surveying of land for the purpose of mapping. It was then a relatively crude science, but increasingly important as the enclosure of common land progressed in the early nineteenth century. His business formed the original precursor of King Sturge. Player´s new direction proved rewarding and he was joint in 1772 by his nephew Jacob Sturge. King & Co, founded in 1920 by Herbert James King, became the leading industrial property firm in the 20th century, acting for developers, investors, owners and occupiers. King Sturge resulted from the merger in 1992 of the two firms which created a whole far greater than the sum of the parts.

250th Anniversary as an Inspiration

The 1760 Charity Appeal provides us with a real opportunity to help others in society who are less fortunate than ourselves. King Sturge are looking to raise 250.000 CZK to provide care for children today and, consequently, help them in the future. We would like to help children in several orphanages in North Bohemia.

If you would like to donate we have set up a special bank account to receive monies. The details are: Nr. 722003/2700, variable symbol 250. Any contribution is more than welcome. If you would alternatively like to donate with cash, please contact any of King Sturge Prague office employees.

Thank you,

King Sturge Prague
